Water Levels Cause for Concern

Dear Members:

There have been many questions and expressed concerns regarding the Birch Lake boat landing. Low water levels are forcing people to power load their boats, and this is causing a large hole after the concrete at the landing.

DNR's Doug Shultz said, "Accesses are a mess everywhere and are unlikely to get repaired this late in the season." Although it's unfortunate, we need to think about taking our boats, docks, and lifts out for the season, especially if they are larger watercraft on bunk trailers.

If the lake goes down any further, you may have issues with: Getting your boats off the lift or off the lake at the ramp. And if you have barge service, they may not get your lift far enough onshore for winter storage.
