Deep Portage Summer Camp Scholarships

Summer at Birch Lake is a time for adventure, learning, and memories that last a lifetime. Deep Portage overnight camps offer children, ages 10 - 16 depending on the camp, a chance to explore the outdoors, learn new skills, make friends, and build confidence. Camps fill quickly each year, and registration has already opened. We are excited to share infomation about the Birch Lake Association’s annual Deep Portage summer camp scholarships.
Birch Lake Association offers two $400 scholarships to Deep Portage summer camps for Lake Association members (children, grandkids, etc.). We award the scholarships on a first come, first serve basis with priority given to first-time campers. The camps cost between $500 - $600 and require a non-refundable $100 deposit. You need to be a member in good standing and here is what you need to do:
Scholarship Details at a Glance
1) Go to the Deep Portage website https://www.deep-portage.org/summer-camps and decide which camp the child hopes to attend.
2) Send us an email at mybirchlake@gmail.com saying you are interested in a scholarship, who would be attending, and which camp they would like to attend.
3) We will send you an email letting you know whether or not you were awarded a scholarship. You can then register for the camp on the Deep Portage website (https://www.deep-portage.org/summer-camps). You will need to pay the $100 deposit at this time and indicate that you will receive a scholarship from Birch Lake Association. 4) Have the child who is attending the camp write a letter to Birch Lake Association telling us which camp they will be attending and why they are excited about that camp. Please send the letter to: Birch Lake Association, P.O. Box 125, Hackensack, MN 56452.
